The 10th Annual St. Louis International Film Festival concluded its Nov. 8-18 run with an awards ceremony at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza on Sunday, Nov. 18. Attendance at the 2001 fest was estimated at 15,500  dramatically up from last year¹s tally of 10,000 and well beyond the previous attendance high of 12,000. There was also a significant increase in sold-out shows, with 20 screenings selling out. The staff credits these gains to the diversity of the program, the high-profile guests in attendance, aggressive marketing, and a retooled effort to reach specific new audience members.
