SPEEDER

By Rory L. Aronsky | April 4, 2005

With every Star Wars fan, a huge scary chunk of real life must fall. And it is nowhere more apparent than in “Speeder”, which reminds us that real life doesn’t always accept a Star Wars calling card. Jedi mind tricks, such as the one used by the fan on the cop that stopped him, just plain don’t work. Had they worked, I’d be sitting in a cushy suite in Hollywood, doing nothing and getting paid for it. “Speeder” is the kind of fanfilm to shout, “We know already!” at it. It’s why we wake up where we are, and slog through the various jobs we do. Life comes with the necessary functions, but sometimes not enough.
