Here’s the FAQ on this bizarre, underground video festival — Golden Shower Video Festival Facts:
[ What’s up with the name ‘Golden Shower’? ] ^ Besides the obvious meaning, Piss off! is the attitude behind Golden Shower. This film festival is righteously so with a Do It Yourself soul. It’s called a video festival because we video project the entries. We screen the films for an audience, not for profit.
[ What kind of films can we expect to see? ] ^ Length wise, moviegoers can expect to see films that are one minute to feature length. The premise of the festival has a lighthearted approach, but in fact deals with a wide range of genres which include comedy, experimental, narrative, documentary, and animation. This festival gives the disgruntled mainstream moviegoer an alternative.
[ What kind of crowd does the event attract? ] ^ Ranging from senior citizens to seniors in high school. ALL AGES ARE WELCOME. The festival venue is at the Southwest School of Art & Craft in downtown San Antonio.
[ How many people are expected this year? ] ^ Over the entire five-year history of this festival, there have been well over fifteen-hundred festival attendees. Many of the filmmakers included in the festival have participated in audience / filmmaker discussions. This year being the sixth festival, we expect volumes of festival attendees during the course of this two-day event.
Prizes are awarded to the filmmaker for the best film/video.
1st – Low Rider Bicycle 2nd – Miniature Accordion 3rd – Lucha Libre Gear
If film is screened, the filmmaker receives a FREE festival T-shirt, an event poster, and lots more..
