PERPETUAL MOTION

By Christopher Zinsli | May 22, 2004

This short, the 2003 Student Academy Award Winner for Animation, is an ingenious little film that postulates that cats and jellied toast can be used to create a perpetual motion machine. To go further into the film’s “theory” would be to ruin the joy of experiencing it firsthand. The narration is perfectly deadpan, and the hand-drawn animation and sound design is charming simplicity. See this short.
