OWN ALFRED HITCHCOCK'S HEAD

By Film Threat Staff | January 20, 2001

Its origins are as mysterious as one of the iconic director’s best movies. This amazingly life-like animatronic wax bust of Alfred Hitchcock found its way into the arms of a loving collector, and now [ eBay ] can make it yours to snuggle and love forever…or maybe even use in a film for an unexpected cameo shock.
The bust, as described by the owner:
“The eyes are made from acrylic, also very life-like in appearance. Now for the unusual part…the eyes are mechanical (motorized) so they constantly look back and forth. There’s a control on his neck that varies the speed his eyes look back and forth.
Mr. Hitchcock is wearing his signature black jacket, and black tie. The dimensions of the piece are 20 inches tall by 23 inches wide. The bust weighs about 7 pounds. There is a hook to hang it on a wall if you’d wish, but I played it safe and just supported it underneath for display.”

If you’ve always wanted a be-all, end-all conversation piece to make you the envy of friends and enemies alike, then this is your lucky day. At the very least, go check out the photos of this truly unique piece of film ephemera.
