The 13th annual Louisville Film and Video Festival is presenting an eclectic mix of 65 award winning national and international films of all genres at the Baxter Avenue Theatres, November 11th – 19th. In addition to the national and international films, the festival includes screenings of work by local professional filmmakers as well as exciting beginning efforts by students from across Kentucky.
Highlights include the world premiere of Gerard Ungerman’s “Plan Columbia”; the first Louisville theatrical screening of the “The Believer”; and several films dealing with contemporary music including the new British-made video, “The Miles Davis Story”; a film about Nick Drake titled “A Skin Too Few” and on Friday evening, November 15, the program will screen three music features including “Welcome to the Club: the Women of Rockabilly,” Tribute and “Plaster Caster.” Local and Kentucky filmmakers Martin Wheeler, Herbie Smith, Tom Hansel and Ron Schildknecht are featured in several programs and will be present to discuss their work. Finally, fine selections of animated and prize-winning international short films will also be screened.
