MY DATE WITH A PORN STAR

By Harold Brookwood | May 17, 2000

I was told to meet her in front of the movie theater at 7:30 where she would introduce her new film. Yes, I had won a date with the Stacy Valentine, the star of [ THE GIRL NEXT DOOR ], a documentary on her life in the porn world. Following her introduction, we would go to a local bar and chat for the duration of the film. Following that, she had to return to the theater for a Q&A for the film.
Well it turns out there are no bars nearby, but there was a coffee shop right around the corner. Stacy and I sat down on the large patio while our chaperone (yes you got it right) sat inside.
She looked good, wearing a tight leopard print shirt and a thin leather jacket. I had seen the documentary and knew much of her background, so I started to tell her about myself, what I did, where i was from etc…
She told me that she just retired from the business and even moved to San Diego, where she is starting her own line of clothing. The shirt she was wearing was from that line. She opened up her jacket to show me a better look, and caught my eyes popping out of my head when I realized just how large her breasts really are! She quickly closed her jacket and said “sorry”. “Hey, there’s no need to apologize”, I said.
She was definitely not what I expected. I expected the typical angry, hardened, I-hate-men-so-get-the-f**k-away-from-me attitude that so many Hollywood women have. Instead she was really nice, well spoken and articulate. She told me that she has no interest in pursuing legit acting because she can’t take rejection. Her whole time in the porn business, she was on top of her game, and nobody ever told her no. She said she wanted to retire before she becomes one of those girls that people say “why is she still in this business” to behind their backs.
She admitted she has trust issues with people and doesn’t make friends easily. She said she isn’t afraid to hide her past when it comes to meeting people in the future, although she said she has found that most people lose all respect for her when they know her past. She doesn’t like it.
Finally our time was up. I shook her hand. All in all it was a really nice experience. It was more like a conversation with a stranger sitting next to you on a plane than anything else.
