Respected stage and screen actor Rod Steiger will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in a special ceremony during the 4th annual The Method Fest independent film festival on Friday, April 19th, 2002. The Method Fest will screen over 50 feature and short films from April 12th to the 19th at the Laemmle Playhouse 7 Cinema and Travis Auditorium in Pasadena, CA.
Steiger’s Method Fest film, “A Month of Sundays,” features the actor as a baseball announcer who suffers a mild stroke. “A Month of Sundays” is set to screen on Saturday, April 13th at 12:00PM.
Steiger is best known for winning the Oscar for Best Actor in 1967 for his role as a small-town sheriff in the South in “In The Heat of The Night.” He was also nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award in 1965 for his role as a concentration camp survivor in Sydney Lumet’s “The Pawnbroker,” and for best Supporting Actor for playing Charley Malloy, Marlon Brando’s tough-guy brother, in “On The Waterfront.”
