Jim Jarmusch will make an appearance as guest speaker at the 2nd Annual Movieside Film Festival on December 13 & 14 at the Biograph Theater (2433 N. Lincoln Ave) in Chicago.
Over the past 2 1/2 years the Movieside Film Festival has shown over 300 short films/videos including work by Guy Madden, Doug Lussenhop, David Cronenberg, Brett Foxwell, Casandra Voltolina, Elizabeth Subrin, Nathan Pommer, Jim Trainor, Leah Meyerhoff, Christine Hart, Art Jones, Miranda July, Gym Jones, Kristie Alshaibi, Bryan Boyce, Todd Voight, Micah Scarpelli, Amy Beste, Kelly Jackson, Willie Laszlo, Carl Weidemann, Jem Cohen, and Masahiro Sugano. Their goal is to provide low cost short film and video screenings at a variety of venues. Previous guest speakers have included John Waters and Lloyd Kaufman.
In addition to films and videos, the event also features live entertainment at many of the shows. Previous performers have included The Demolition Dollrods, Andrew Bird, The Goblins, Pelican, Bloodhag, Erase Errata, Gravy Train, The Flying Luttenbachers, Behold!! The Living Corpse!!, Tusk, The Windy City Gay Men’s Chorus, Evil Beaver, Lightning Bolt, Dr. Killbot, Environmental Encroachment, and the Red Eyed Legends.
