IMAGERY HONORS IN SONOMA

By Film Threat Staff | March 31, 2003

Cinema Epicuria, otherwise known as the Sixth Annual Sonoma Valley Film Festival, has announced the recipients of the new “Imagery Honors,” celebrating outstanding creative achievements in film: writer/directors Mark Romanek, Alexander Payne and Agnieszka Holland. The Imagery Honors will be presented on Friday, April 11th as part of Sonoma Valley Film Festival Tribute Program, one of the highlights of the unique film festival showcasing new independent films, panel discussions, food & wine, and art…and even more wine.
The Imagery Honors program will begin on Friday, April 11 at 5:00 p.m. with a VIP reception hosted by the girl and the fig restaurant, which will include hors d’oeuvres provided by the girl and the fig and Rhone-style wines from Tantalus, Imagery, and other local wineries. Then from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. at the historic Sebastiani Theatre, Romanek, Payne and Holland will be recognized during an entertaining and informative tribute to, and conversation with, each of the three directors. John Lasseter will host the talk-show-style show that celebrates and explores their dynamic work, the industry and more. All three recipients will be presented with magnums of Imagery Estate’s 1999 Ash Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, designed by local artist Garry Transue into a dramatic and memorable tribute.
After the Imagery Honors wraps, attendees will join Mark Romanek, Alexander Payne and Agnieszka Holland at a sensational reception at a local private estate. Attendees of the exclusive after party will enjoy Viansa wines, Gloria Ferrer bubbly, Gordon Biersch beer and a menu provided by Wild Thyme catering. In other words, everyone is going to get smashed and gab about movies.
