“HARVARD MAN” STEPS OUT

By Film Threat Staff | May 22, 2002

On the heels of a recent screening at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, James Toback’s (“Black & White,” “Two Girls and a Guy”) latest dark comedy “Harvard Man” will be released by Cowboy Pictures, beginning this June 14th, 2002 in New York. The feature takes a look at the seductive power of vice:
Alan (Adrian Grenier) is a Harvard basketball student indulging in all of life’s more interesting vices — illicit sex, drugs and high-stakes gambling, with a little Heidegger thrown in for good measure. Tempted by cheerleader seductress/mob daughter Cindy Bandolini (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Alan gets in too deep and finds himself in danger of losing a lot more than his scholarship.
Director Toback, incidentally, is a Harvard grad himself. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for the screenplay for “Bugsy” in 1992.
