On May 28th the double-disc Harry Potter DVD will hit stores with an extra 5 minutes and a load of extras. According to a Warner Home Video news release, here are the details: Harry Potter and his books are a publishing phenomenon with over 120 million books sold worldwide since its 1997 first printing. This is much more popular than the estimated 66 million Goosebumps books sold since its debut in the 1980’s, or the 5-7 million estimated books sold of “Gone with the Wind,” or the 2-3 million estimated books sold of “The Wizard of Oz.” The DVD will sell for $26.99 and the VHS will be $24.99. Not only is there the theatrical and more bonus material of additional never-before-seen footage on the DVD, but there is a whole other disc of special features, including 360 degree self-guided tours of enchanting classrooms, exclusive trading cards, and unique challenges to uncover the Sorcerer’s Stone.
