The Austin Film Society will join with the Austin Film Festival to present a regional benefit premiere of Universal Pictures’ “The Truth About Charlie” with director Jonathan Demme in attendance. The premiere is sponsored by Texas Monthly and will take place on October 9th at 8:00 pm at the Paramount Theatre, 713 Congress Avenue.
Starring Mark Wahlberg, “The Truth About Charlie,” finds a woman in Paris all set to divorce her husband when she suddenly discovers him dead and all of their money gone. This is when a mystery man (Wahlberg) comes along and insists that the money is his and he wants it back.
Ticket prices run like this: ^ $15 ($10 AFS/AFF members) includes orchestra seating and a post-premiere party at Antone’s ^ $10 ($7.50 AFS/AFF members) includes mezzanine or balcony seating
Tickets may be purchased in person at the Paramount Theatre Box Office, Monday through Saturday from 12 noon until 5:30 pm; or at any Star Tickets outlet; or by calling Star Tickets at (512) 469-SHOW or (800)966-SHOW outside of Austin. AFS and AFF members must purchase tickets in person at the Paramount Theatre to receive member discount.
Proceeds will benefit programs of the Austin Film Society and the Austin Film Festival.
