“Fourteen” is a conundrum for any reviewer, a true exercise in only going so far to bring readers into what they need to know, before they can find out the rest for themselves. And to you, the many readers out there, I say that you should know it’s a nice day in what looks like a close-knit neighborhood, at least among the people that are there to attend a party. It looks like a party for Hannah (Laken Romine) who wakes up to a gift on her night table, and rushes into the bathroom to open it up. Meanwhile, her mother makes a cake and gifts are being wrapped. A nice day for her and everyone else involved.
That’s as far as it can go. Nicole Barnette subtly and gradually reveals her intentions, and we are left to ponder for quite a while afterward.
