Running August 12-21, 2013, the 4th annual Everything Is Festival will take place at Cinefamily in Los Angeles. Hosts and performers for this year’s event include Mike Judge, Patton Oswalt, Chris Elliott, Tenacious D, Dan Harmon, Doug Benson and more. From the official press release:
The 4th annual Everything Is Festival – the world’s greatest gonzo convention of found footage, alternative comedy, weird music, and out-there art – returns to Los Angeles with an unprecedented line-up of shows, appearances, presentations, and performances including Mike Judge, Patton Oswalt, Chris Elliott, Tenacious D, Maria Bamford, Dan Harmon, Doug Benson, Tony Clifton, Thu Tran, Adam Goldberg, Scott Adsit, Doug Benson, Dino Stamatopoulos, and a Pizza Party hosted by Fox’s ADHD featuring Power Violence and Yacht! And so much more!
Also featured throughout the fest are outrageous parties, contests, and art installations. In addition to Fox’s ADHD-hosted Pizza Party, there will be a Most Outrageous Video Games party to celebrate the grand opening of our Island of Misfit Video Games arcade where attendees will be invited to play some of the most ill-fated games of all time! The L.A. premiere of SXSW entry Rewind This – a “passionate geek doc” cataloging the birth and death of VHS – will be followed by an epic VHS tape-swapping party. And throughout the fest the Cinefamily back patio will feature an international pop-up snack shack of exotic treats, like Watermelon Oreos and Candy Cane Pringles.
The public will be able to participate in the creative fun, too! Vine enthusiasts can submit their 6-second film masterpieces to the Everything Is Vine Film Fest, at which the winners will be revealed by celebrity Vine users like James Urbaniak and Adam Goldberg! And the Found Footage Battle Royale goes straight to the source, soliciting the best of the worst from the Cinefamily community in a no-holds barred competition to find the ultimate Everything Is video clip.
Of course there will be feature film screenings galore, like the Los Angeles premiere of soon-to-be classic Fateful Findings (presented by Badass Digest) directed by former real-estate magnate-turned-auteur Neil Breen, and the first 35mm presentation of the super-rare posthumous Bruce Lee rip-off The Dragon Lives Again. Not to mention: a screening of the ultra obscure late 60’s comedy cameo carnival The Phynx, hosted by Patton Oswalt and co-presented by the Warner Archive Collection!
