What started out four years ago as the “ultraproductive” magazine and short film production effort of the then-new Johns Hopkins Film Society has grown into a film force to be reckoned with. The Johns Hopkins Film Festival, since crowned the Best Film Festival in Baltimore, has also seen their attendance numbers swell steadily — over 3,000 film fiends took part in the 2000 event, where notable films like “The Target Shoots First” and “Wadd: The Life and Times of John C. Holmes” made their mark.
The Festival is currently seeking shorts and features for their [ April 5th through the 8th, 2001 ] event, and the entry deadlines are [ January 5th, 2001 ] for all on-time hopefuls, and [ January 15th, 2001 ] for the lazier group. A Festival bonus: you can submit up to 45 minutes of short film programming and still only pay a single entry fee ( [ $15 early/ $25 late ] ).
