If you want a cable channel tribute in your own name, then just resurrect a bunch of dead people and have them take over the world. It’s just that simple! All throughout August, Encore will be showing Night of the Living Dead, “Day of the Dead” and “Monkey Shines” as part of a tribute to George A. Romero. Kicking off the tribute will be an episode of Encore’s original series “The Directors”, which will feature clips from Romero’s films including his “Dead” trilogy Night of the Living Dead, “Dawn of the Dead”, and “Day of the Dead”, “Martin”, Creepshow, “Monkey Shines”, “Knightriders”, and “The Dark Half”. The episode will also feature exclusive chats with Romero, plus comments from many actors he has worked with such as Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, Stanley Tucci, Adrienne Barbeau and Hal Holbrook.
George Romero’s episode of “The Directors” will premiere on August 1st at 7:00pm (ET/PT). Future episodes will spotlight Tim Burton, George Lucas, Ridley Scott, Alan Parker, Barry Sonnenfeld, Roger Corman, John Frankenheimer, Peter Jackson and Bryan Singer.
