VEGAS.com and the CineVegas Film Festival have announced a contest to find the creative genius who will help create the next series of VEGAS.com national television commercials. The winner will have the opportunity to direct a national TV spot and will also receive a cash prize of $5,000. The top five contestants will be flown to Las Vegas to attend the 2007 CineVegas Film Festival (June 6-16 at the Palms Hotel and Casino inside the Brenden Theatres), where a winner will be chosen by a special judging panel consisting of celebrities, CineVegas executives and VEGAS.com honchos, winners of the TIA Odyssey Award for Best Advertising and HSMAI awards for Advertising Excellence.
“We’re opening our creative process to emerging talent, to showcase their creativity and win the chance to direct a national television commercial,” said Mike Plante, associate director of programming for CineVegas. “The CineVegas Film Festival is a perfect backdrop for budding artists, filmmakers, and creative talent.”
“We’ve won a number of national awards for our advertising and campaigns, but that doesn’t mean we’ve cornered the market on great ideas about Vegas,” said Howard Lefkowitz, VEGAS.com president. “We’re proud to work with CineVegas to provide this breakthrough opportunity to direct a spot in our next national campaign.”
HOW TO ENTER:
Create a 30- to 60-second video spot depicting your vision for the next VEGAS.com commercial. Act it out in a one-man show or enlist the help of your friends. Starting on May 4th, 2007, submissions may be uploaded to www.cinevegas.com/vegascom/. All submissions must be received no later than May 25th, 2007. The submissions will be reviewed and narrowed down to five finalists. The directors will be flown to Vegas for the 2007 CineVegas Festival and to be on-hand as a winner is chosen. The winner will receive $5,000 and the chance to direct a national commercial for VEGAS.com. While nudity may be a core competency of Sin City, it won’t get you a spot as a finalist here. Visit www.cinevegas.com/vegascom/ for a list of official entry rules.
