Calling all Film Threat fans in the Los Angeles area! We need your help! You can have a part as an extra in Film Threat’s very first film — “My Big Fat Independent Movie.” In fact, we promise we will kill you in the scene! We’re looking for 50+ extras to appear in a climactic scene that will be shot on Saturday, October 25th from 8 AM until 10 PM (at the latest, though it’s not likely to be that long). We’re shooting in downtown LA and the best part — we will feed you! Plus, there will be tons of give-aways and prizes. So, take your entire Saturday, spend it on a movie set, hang with me and be in our movie! You’ll need to bring two sets of clothes and do not wear anything that has a logo or trademarked character on it. Bring friends, relatives, but know that, hey, you get to die in a movie — and in a really cool way that I can’t tell you now as it would ruin the climax of our film.
“My Big Fat Independent Movie” is a parody film along the lines of “Scary Movie” and “Not Another Teen Movie.” It includes references to some of the indie film world’s most renowned movies of the last ten years. The film also pokes fun at everything from Sundance to indie film financing. I like to describe it as a “low brow comedy, for the high brow crowd.” But in the end, it’s also a love letter to the independent film community and those that take the kind of risks that Hollywood traditionally avoids.
