Quincy, IL (September, 29th, 2006) Young Professionals of Quincy would like to announce that independent films are now being accepted for inclusion in the second annual “Big Dam Film Festival.”

WHAT: “The Big Dam Film Fest” is an event that will feature independently produced films from across the country with special focus on locally produced films. The goal of the event is to showcase a selection of films, which represent a variety of styles and genres of independent film to spur an already buzzing local interest in this exciting form of art.

WHEN: Saturday, March 24th, 2007.

WHERE: The State Room, 434 South 8th Quincy, Illinois.

WHY: Consistent with the mission of YP Quincy, this event will promote a culturally rich form of entertainment while educating the citizens of Quincy and surrounding communities about film as an art form. After the success of last year’s festival, YP Quincy has realized the potential for this event to become one that is a signature of Quincy, and one that can serve to further the interests of local businesses, artists and the community at large.
