Though some of today’s indie films unintentionally look like they were made by children, The Backyard National Children’s Film Festival aims to give real-life, truly talented and ambitious young’uns a chance to create and show their own films. From [ November 3rd to the 4th, 2000, ] the Festival will host a slew of aspiring Spielbergs, all aged 18 and under, for their annual ceremony.
Speaking of Spielberg, his LEGO MovieMaker Set, a hit with the pre-teen crowd, will celebrate its launch with a special award. And two very lucky junior filmmakers will receive a Max Simon Memorial Scholarship to attend an accredited film school…though a driver’s license is probably a pre-requisite also.
