Amidst the chaos of modern life, a young individual embarks on a transformative journey to confront their inner demons, uncovering the power of resilience, vulnerability, and self-destruction.
In his short film, The Sounds of Insanity, Antoine Morgan plays a young man on the brink of despair. He’s about to be evicted, his girl cheated on him, and though he’s perfect for an acting role, the producers want to go in another direction.
“…about to be evicted, his girl cheated on him, and though he’s perfect for an acting role, the producers want to go in another direction.”
The problem is that our protagonist is alone in a cabin in the woods, with only his thoughts to judge his life. Our protagonist is up against the wall with nowhere to go as his fate builds to an ominous crescendo.
The Sounds of Insanity is a one-hander for filmmaker Antoine Morgan, who presents this self-produced short as its writer, co-director (with Saunsiree Harvey), editor, cinematographer, and graphic designer. Morgan gives a heartful performance touching on suicide and the inner thoughts that lead to this point. The film pleads with the audience that when life sends us down a horrible path, we should reach out for help.
