Frank Zanella’s The Footprint follows the story of a soldier on tour overseas. On patrol, the soldier steps on a landmine, and in an instant, we’re thrust into the soldier’s thoughts. She can now only think about being home with her son. The soldier’s only hope is a young boy who doesn’t speak her language and doesn’t know about the landmine.

The Footprint masterfully immerses us in the soldier’s shoes. Writer/director Zanella takes us into the most extreme circumstance—one of life and death. How will our protagonist get herself out of this situation? The use of flashbacks raises the stakes for survival. Now, add a single lifeline to the boy, and we have a small glimmer of hope.
With The Footprint, Sofia Maggi is incredible as the soldier and filmmaker Frank Zanella makes us feel every moment of her plight, forcing us to wonder, “What would I do?”

"…makes us feel every moment..."
