Then there’s Gunther himself in the form of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. I wouldn’t call his presence as a cameo. Although his role in the film is brief, Arnold makes the most of his time on screen. He’s funny and takes command, letting everyone know who the real star of the film is. He has no problem poking fun at himself and reminds you that he can do comedy. (Will we ever see a Twins sequel?)
“…a weird film about a group of buffoonish villains working their way through a series of silly gags.”
Killing Gunther is a weird film about a group of buffoonish villains working their way through a series of silly gags. The mockumentary interview gimmick, in general, is starting to get old. Everyone either talks about what just happened or they highlight some quirk they ore someone else has.
I liked Killing Gunther enough to recommend it. Look, comedies are meant to make you laugh. I have a low threshold for silliness, and I am a fan of the cast. If you’re looking for a silly comedy, give Killing Gunther a try.
