Eddie Zajdel’s Heavenly Grounds is a tribute to his father and his dreams. While attending a particular Detroit Tigers game, the young Eddie (Landon Kane) became inspired to build his own baseball field in his backyard. After encouraging his father, Ed (Corey Ryter), to get off his phone, he is right there to help his son fulfill his dreams. But is that dream too big?
“…inspired to build his own baseball field in his backyard.”
Zajdel tells his childhood story as a modern-day silent movie — with no dialogue and a Field of Dreams-like soundtrack. He finds the right camera angles and movie magic to birth the actual baseball field, now known as Zajdel Park.
Heavenly Grounds is a simple and sweet tale about fathers and baseball and sure to tug at the old heartstrings. The short is a love letter to Zajdel’s father. A man who encouraged the crazy dream of his son because that’s what fathers should do.
"…a simple and sweet tale..."
