Two brothers reconnect over their mother’s recipe of beefies in Adam Lebowitz-Lockard’s short film, Beefies. So what the hell is beefies? Ah, it’s a beef stew or stroganoff of some sort.
It’s Passover during a pandemic, and Josh (Adam Lebowitz-Lockard) asks his friend, Athena (Salome Mergia), to join him in virtual Passover. Unfortunately, Josh’s mother recently passed away, and his brother Mark (Goren Ivanovski) refuses to speak to him for missing the funeral.

Josh decides to cook his favorite dish, beefies, for Passover but can find only part of the recipe in his mother’s Passover box. Desperate to make the dish, Josh reluctantly reaches out to Mark to find the missing steps.
Beefies is a sweet story of family and a mother’s wish that her boys would understand the true bond of family after she’s gone. It’s a short film that will put a smile on your face and warm your heart.
