If you told me that I would review a movie called Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!, a million images and plotlines would swirl in my head. Now that I’ve seen Todd Stephens’ 2008 re-release, every expectation was met. This film is packed with a cornucopia of gay jokes and one-liners to make you drip with anticipation.
Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild! picks up where Another Gay Movie left off, with best friends Nico (Jonah Blechman), Andy Wilson (Jake Mosser), Jarod (Jimmy Clabots), and Griff (Aaron Michael Davies) heading to Fort Lauderdale for a wild gay spring break. The film opens with an over-the-top, disastrously bloody sex dream involving Nico, which sets the tone for the chaos to come. Our gang dives headfirst into the gay festivities culminating in the annual “Gays Gone Wild” contest—a competition to see who can hook up with the most guys before the break is over. Feeling smug and confident are last year’s champions, the flawless, fraternity-style trio known as the Jaspars—all determined to defend their title.
Nico has the best shot at beating the Jaspars, which means he’s going to be the target of the Jaspars for the entire weekend. Under the Jaspars influence, Nico and Andy stumble across a “cursed” tiki pendant that uses the forces of evil as a c**k-block (sound familiar? The tiki part, that is). Andy also falls for a young man, Luis (Euriamis Losada), who is a virgin, forcing Andy to choose potential love over sowing his wild oats. Luckily, Andy’s father (Scott Thompson) is there to give him advice (that’s a strange coincidence).
Lastly, our couple Jarod and Griff find themselves tempted by all the good-looking men strutting around in Speedos. Their desire to experience new… experiences leads them to set rules in hopes of maintaining their relationship. The only answer is a threesome.

Like I said up front, Another Gay Sequel is dense with jokes. There are great jokes, normal “gay” jokes, and a dude here and there. I’m also not gay myself…really, but you don’t need to be gay to get what’s going on. You probably need to be gay to get excited for all the nudity, bare butts, and simulated sex throughout the film. Everyone tastes different… I mean, everyone’s tastes are different.
There are three notable cameos. RuPaul brings the needed mainstream cred as Tyrell Tyrelle, the event’s organizer. It’s essentially RuPaul, and he serves as the conduit between the over-the-top lunacy and the film’s desperate need to keep the plot on track. Scott Thompson, as Andy’s Dad, is brilliant as always. He’s not just a cameo and brings his Kids in the Hall sensibilities to the tale. The best cameo is Perez Hilton, who plays himself as a gay Christian trying to put an end to all the hedonistic fornication happening everywhere and at all times. It’s a truly unique performance.
Not gonna lie, but this is a very gay movie. There’s no filter, and there’s no holding back. It’s not porn. One key for me is whether you’ll remember jokes long after the film ends. For me, it’s the lube/super glue gag, the furry gag, and Perez Hilton.
Sure, there’s a lot of sex on screen, but this film is all about the jokes. If you like your parody movies, Another Gay Sequel made me laugh. I’m pretty sure if you’re gay, you’d probably laugh a lot more than I did. This is a sex comedy, so take that as your warning of what you’ll see.
In the end, Todd Stephens’ Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild! delivers exactly what its title promises—an unapologetic, joke-per-minute sex comedy that refuses to tone itself down. It’s outrageous, wildly specific, and completely committed to the bit.
