Aliens Uncovered: Moments Of Disclosure

Aliens Uncovered: Observe And Report 2 is one of the most compelling arguments for extraterrestrial life put to moving images. Director/co-writer Clive Christopher and fellow screenwriters/interviewees Tom King, Andre McBride, Jared Suter, and Dominic Vasquez now present their follow-up Aliens Uncovered: Moments Of Disclosure, which, as the title implies, is more about discussing the findings than reporting odd happenings a la the former. Is this as striking an exposé as others in the series, or has that crackle of intrigue faded away?

Christopher starts the documentary by narrating about the formation of mountains and how crystals/gems are formed beneath the crust of the Earth. He then interviews a couple about something odd that happened in their backyard, as they live right by a well-known formation that’s steeped in possible alien encounters. Then, he’s talking to a man in the desert who discusses “spheres of energy” and how those only exist along specific parallels. While all that is going on, behind-the-scenes shenanigans, such as the making of a Netflix series and recording a podcast, are being filmed as well.

Unfortunately, there’s just not much to Aliens Uncovered: Moments Of Disclosure. It feels more like one of those EPK special features on a Blu-ray than a full documentary presenting a story itself. The man in the desert, who cannot pronounce the word “magnetism” probably (I found this very distracting), offers no supporting text for what he’s saying. The man brings up Native American philosophy, but no texts, folklore, religious writings, or anything else is presented to back up what he says. As such, he sounds like the rambling homeless guy in the park. This marks a stark contrast to the real, relatable things that happened in Christopher’s other dives into alien existence.

“…interviews a couple about something odd that happened in their backyard, as they live right by a well-known formation that’s steeped in possible alien encounters.”

As for the other half of this narrative — the behind-the-scenes stuff — it is interesting if one likes that sort of thing. Thankfully, I love knowing what goes into any art being made, so this angle hooked me, though how it relates to the “neighbors chat” (for lack of better phrasing) is tenuous at best. The story of how the Netflix crew experienced something wild is tons of fun, as the podcasters are an energetic presence.

However, Christopher is a talented filmmaker, so even if things don’t tie together nicely, they are still presented very well. The use of music here is quite good, and the pacing never lags despite not everything making sense. Plus, as always, the director knows how to create a compelling frame, and this franchise remains visually stimulating.

Perhaps it is the tight turnaround between films. Maybe it is that there wasn’t enough evidence to dive into. Whatever the reason, Aliens Uncovered: Moments Of Disclosure is not as great as its predecessors. The two different halves of the plot don’t really have anything to do with each other. The filmmaker does not bring in supporting evidence for what the subjects are saying, so what is said doesn’t always make sense or ring true. But Christopher doesn’t let the pace drag, and the glimpse into how these things are made is fascinating. As a standalone, this documentary is just fine, but in comparison to its brethren, it lacks a certain something.

  1. Antonio says:

My name is Antonio J. Alves, and I was born in Vimieiro, Portugal in 1965. My journey into ufology began at the age of thirteen after a life-changing experience in 1978, when I witnessed an intense white light in the night sky. That moment forever shifted my perspective on history, the origins of humanity, and religion. Since then, I have dedicated myself as a self-taught researcher, exploring ufology, archaeology, theology, and astronomy in search of deeper truths that go beyond conventional science.
In 1987, I traveled to the United States, where I lived in Connecticut for more than a decade before returning to Portugal in 1998. Over the years, I have remained closely connected with MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) and collaborated with APO (Portuguese UFO Research Association), even giving an interview with its current president. Along my path, I have shared messages and insights received through dreams and unexplained events, meeting others with similar experiences and exchanging knowledge. Some call me “the UFO guy,” and I carry that with pride, because my work is the result of years of research and reflection—blending ancient manuscripts and sacred texts, particularly the Bible, into an exploration of humanity’s past, present, and future through the lens of the UFO phenomenon. This dedication also led me to publish my book, Gods or Civilizations from the Stars. I would be honored to connect and share my story with you. With warm regards, Antonio J. Alves
