By Film Threat Staff | September 26, 2024

The Catalina Film Festival is back, ready to make waves in the indie film scene from September 26-29, 2024. Set against the backdrop of Catalina Island, this four-day cinematic blowout is a haven for film buffs and industry rebels alike. And for its 14th annual run, CFF is honoring two powerhouse women in Hollywood: Oscar-winner Marcia Gay Harden and actress/philanthropist Emmanuelle Chriqui.

On Saturday, September 28, at the legendary Catalina Casino, Harden will receive the Avalon Award, while Chriqui will be celebrated with the Champion of Challenge Award. This red carpet ceremony, which kicks off at 7 p.m., will celebrate their contributions not just to film but also to the art of pushing boundaries in Hollywood.

While the heavy hitters get their due, CFF’s lineup is packed with more than 200 films, industry panels, and after-parties that span across Avalon’s scenic venues. Whether you’re island-hopping for the fest or catching the action virtually through the EO Flix App, there’s no shortage of indie magic. Plus, the virtual fest runs from Sept. 25 to Oct. 8, giving film lovers an extended chance to binge.
