Avengers: Endgame was the final chapter in a ten-year saga that encompassed 22 bombastic and fantastic superhero movies. We laughed, we gasped, we cried, and we marvelled at the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And we can’t wait for more. Endgame may have been an ending, but it’s not the end. If WandaVision is anything to go by, there are still great stories left to tell, and incredible cinema experiences to be had.
New Slots to Ease Your Marvel Withdrawals
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the wait for the new set of ‘phase four’ movies has been longer than we expected. So, while Black Widow is waiting in the wings, why not get your fill of the Marvel universe by playing Marvel-themed slots? It’s always fun to explore safe and licensed new slots, and there are plenty of Marvel new online slots to sink your teeth into. The Avengers slot features all the main Avengers, and you’ll have the chance to win one of the slot’s four progressive jackpots. Hulk fans should check out The Incredible Hulk slot game; you’ll find plenty of excellent special features, including a Smash Bonus, and a pick to win game that offers a prize worth 100x your bet. Thor the Mighty Avenger, The Fantastic Four, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Iron Man are all slot games that are worth your time and likely to help you scratch that Marvel itch.
Marvel in 2021
We’re keeping our fingers firmly crossed, but it looks like 2021 is going to end on a high note for Marvel fans. With cinemas finally opening their doors again, at least four potential Marvel blockbusters are going to explode onto the silver screen. Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh, is scheduled for release on the 9th of July. Knowing that Black Widow was going to get her own turn in the spotlight was the only thing keeping most fans from losing their minds when Hawkeye let her go in Endgame. Finally, the wait to see her again is almost over.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, starring Awkwafina, Simu Liu, and Tony Leung is slated for release on September 3rd, and it will be the first Marvel movie to feature an Asian superhero at the helm. The hotly anticipated, ensemble movie, Eternals, starring Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, and Angelina Jolie will hit screens on November 5th. And the third instalment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will spring into action on December 17th. Spider-Man: No Way Home will feature Dr Strange, as well as some surprising returns from characters across the multiverse. We expect to see Jamie Foxx return as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 is also set to make a comeback. We may even get cameo appearances from Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire; Spider-Man, meet Spider-Men?
Marvel in 2022
Four more Marvel behemoths look set to start a fire under 2022. Kicking things off will be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is slated for release on March 25th, 2022. Benedict Cumberbatch will be reprising his role as Dr Strange, and he’ll be joined by Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, alongside Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. We don’t know much about this one, but what we do know is this film could be Marvel’s scariest superhero movie yet.
Thor
May 6th, 2022 brings Thor back to our screens in Thor: Love and Thunder. Taika Waititi is back in the writer/directors chair for his second Thor film, and we’ve got to say, that makes us super happy. Waititi brings his own particular brand of humour to the world of the God of Thunder, and it’s pitch perfect. Let’s hope he can follow the success of Ragnarok with a kick-a*s female Thor. The cast line-up features Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Christian Bale (as the villain). But the plot is tightly under wraps, so we have no idea how the pieces of Thor will fit together.
Black Panther
Just two months later, we’ll be back in the cinema for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Very little is known about the Black Panther sequel yet. What we do know is that the decision has been made not to recast T’Challa. Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing has left a hole in every Black Panther fan’s heart, it would have been too sad to see another actor simply step into his shoes. But perhaps Shuri, the Princess of Wakanda, might be the one to take on the mantel of Black Panther? Only time will tell.
Captain Marvel
And finally, November 2022 sees the return of Captain Marvel in The Marvels. Brie Larson will be reprising her role as Captain Marvel, and will be joined by Iman Vellani as Ms Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Zawe Ashton as the villain. The first Captain Marvel film certainly ruffled a few male-chauvinist feathers, but we can’t wait to have her back on screen. Little girls and boys everywhere are ready and waiting for this awesome, female superhero to rock their worlds once again.
