Windy City Horrorama will host the the World Premiere ofJason Coffman’s indie Horror/Comedy Housesitters on April 28th at the Davis Theater in Chicago.
Housesitters is Coffman’s feature directorial debut. Inspired by modern comedy like Broad City and horror films like Ghoulies, this film follows Angie (Annie Watkins) and Izzy (Jamie Jirak) as they take on a promising housesitting gig that spirals into supernatural horror.
Coffman says “With Housesitters, I wanted to do something that doesn’t take itself too seriously and is a fast, fun showcase for the talents of our fantastic cast and crew. We shot Housesitters on a minuscule budget (that mostly went toward buying food for everybody on shooting days) with a lot of hard work on a tight schedule.”
The cast also includes Peter Ash, Jay J. Bidwell, Bethanie Louise, Mariah Michael, James Timothy Peters, and Ben Schlotfelt. Creature puppets were designed and built by Ohio-based independent filmmaker Dustin Wayde Mills who directed The Puppet Monster Massacre. You will be able to find Housesitters on VOD later this year.
The inaugural Windy City Horrorama, presented with support from horrorsociety.com, is a weekend-long celebration of the DIY spirit of independent genre filmmaking. Horrorama sets off on a weekend of fun and frights on April 27th at the newly re-opened Davis Theater.
