imagineNATIVE 25 FILM FESTIVAL REVIEW! Turns out the little man in the boat can sing like a vaginal angel in the vivacious vulva musical Chatterbox, written by Tuakoi Ohia and directed by Tainui Tukiwaho.
The New Zealand-produced short opens with the red lips of Teke (Brady Peeti) hovering sideways in total darkness. The lips speak to the audience, with the lights coming up to reveal that Teke is a singing clitoris, nestled in the sweetest puffy vagina with long flowing hair. The woman that Teke is attached to, Tui (Ohia), puts up with all sorts of p***y pestering, including demanding to be shower headed while bathing. However, Tui has plans with her boyfriend Edward (Richie Grzyb) later, plans that Teke has no idea about. Suddenly, Teke is in a waxing salon and is shorn of all those curly locks. It’s enough to make a fed-up lamb pit break in song!

Yes, to answer your first question, this c**t can sing. In fact, the songs in Chatterbox are both clever and catchy, with smart ditties that will have all labias doing the limbo. Try getting “flap clap” out of your head; you simply can’t. Peeti sings with such devastatingly perfect timing for the hilarity; it is a sight to behold. Ohia plays it completely straight-faced, staring down her argumentative cooter with all seriousness. It is impressive how much control she shows onscreen, as she was the one that had all this weird p***y costume s**t in her head in the first place.
Of course, it helps that the genitalia is dolled up in the cutest little beaver get-ups. The parade of p*****s costume designer Nicole Marsh has pumped out is forever magnificent. I would sure like to climb into one of those outfits some shiny day. I really like how the director opens with a blatant allusion to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, except with the lips sideways, just like a vulva. Also, Tukiwaho knows how to shoot a singing clitoris, with lots of fantastic lighting and angles.
Chatterbox is exactly what you hope it is, except even better. It may be only one tiny little vagina, but Tukiwaho expands it into an expanding universe of poon to explore. Get your eyes up and bibs on.
