Ashlie Rhey knows all about the long, hard road out of Hollywood obscurity. Her early gigs included modeling jobs for Playboy and acting as the body double for Tinseltown divas like Sarah Jessica Parker and Lara Flynn Boyle. Along the way she also got involved in some interesting stuff like serving as eye candy in the video “Bitch School” for the only metal band that matters – Spinal Tap.
Sure, Rhey’s been in her share of low budget Skinemax-style flicks like “Bikini Drive-In” and it’s equally fine sequel “Bikini Ho Down”–but she’s also shown her versatility by performing as part of a comic ensemble at L.A.’s Comedy Store. So, when you’re watching her in fare like “Sexual Impulse,” “Sirens of Seduction,” and “Bare Exposure” –just remember you’re only getting part of the story.
Truth be told, this shapely thespian has paid her dues. And she’s put plenty of time into the study of method acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute, as well. While that training probably doesn’t come into play much in her B-movie appearances, Ms. Rhey is definitely a serious actress, and it would seem that the best is yet to come.
