I’ll make this quick as I believe reviews should never be longer than the actual film. Steven Shea’s short film, Sharkbaby, is a good-looking animated short, and you may just pop a blood vessel at the end. Here’s the logline:
“When granted the miracle of conception, a Mother discovers the true essence of existence.”
“…one odd story of a woman giving birth to a baby shark…”
I’m not sure about that “true essence of existence” part, but this is one odd story of a woman giving birth to a baby shark, and it ends with a brief bonding moment.
The short is all line art with excellent character designs. At two minutes, Sharkbaby is weird enough to start your day on an odd and perplexing note. The phrase, “what the hell?” is still rolling in my head.
"…weird enough to start your day on an odd and perplexing note."
