Cable movie network Starz today launched Vongo, their version of the iTunes video service, only with better selection. Subscribers pay $9.99 a month to have “unlimited access to watch more than 1,000 movies at any time on a laptop or a portable media player,” the company said. The subscription also allows access to a live stream of the Starz cable channel. Vongo will use Microsoft’s Windows Media so Apple users are kind of screwed.
But “for an additional fee of $3.99 per movie, programming not available on the main subscription service that is made available after six months of a movie’s theater release can be downloaded for rental.”
