The American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre and Outfest collaborate to present gay and lesbian programming on Wednesdays at the Egyptian in Los Angeles. Outfest Wednesdays is the only gay and lesbian-themed weekly screening series in the country. Founded in 1999, the programming features favorites from past festivals, Hollywood revivals, filmmaker retrospectives and sneak preview/word of mouth screenings of upcoming releases.
On August 18th is a screening of “GIRL PLAY” (2004, USA, video, 80 min.). On August 25th is an Outfest and American Cinematheque member only screening of “TESTOSTERONE” (2003, Argentina/USA, 35mm, 101 min.), in the Spielberg Theatre. On September 1st is a screening of “BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS” (2003, UK, 35mm, 105 min.). On September 8th is a screening of “THE TIME WE KILLED” (2004, USA, 16mm, 94 min.) in the Spielberg Theatre. On September 15th is a screening of “NOAH’S ARC” (2004, USA, video, 60 min.). On September 22nd is a screening of “A FINE STATE THIS IS” (2003, USA, video, 54 min.) in the Spielberg Theatre. On September 29th is a screening of “DORIAN BLUES” (2004, USA, video, 88 min.). Finally, on October 6th is a special sneak preview of “STAGE BEAUTY” (2004, USA, 35mm, 105 min.).
