Coming to Japanese theaters this summer is the sequel to the controversial hit Battle Royale, which has yet to gain any kind of U.S. release and probably never will due to its subject matter.
Directed by Kinji Fukasaku (“Tetsuo: Iron Man,” “Gemini”), “Battle Royale II” focuses on a terrorist group called Wild Seven, made up of Battle Royale survivors. Having all they’re going to take from the terrorists, the Japanese government creates the BR2 act where junior high school students are sent to an island, not to kill one another, but to wipe out the Wild Seven. Sonny Chiba and Riki Takeuchi star.
