The cast and filmmakers from “Superman: The Movie” reunited to celebrate the DVD release of the film and for a good cause. Warner Brothers donated $10,000 to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation which encourages and supports research to develop effective treatments and a cure for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other central nervous system disorders. Stars from the film in attendance include Margot Kidder and Valerie Perrine who posed for photographs with the costumes from the original film. Also attending were director Richard Donner, creative consultant Tom Mankiewicz, and cast members Marc McClure, Sarah Douglas, Jeff East. The ceremony was held at the Warner Brothers Museum’s “Superman” exhibit, which is part of the studio’s VIP tour and features memorabilia and actual costumes worn by Reeve, Perrine, Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman. The donation is to honor Reeve and his Foundation’s outstanding work on behalf of the estimated 250,000 Americans and their families who are challenged by spinal cord injuries and to commemorate the long-awaited DVD release of “Superman: The Movie.”
