TWO RIVER FOR CHARITY

By Film Threat Staff | October 1, 2003

Two River Film Festival, in partnership with Monmouth University, will kick-off their inaugural three-day charity fundraising film festival on October 10th with Jim Sheridan¹s semi-autobiographical “IN AMERICA,” starring Samantha Morton a film about a family of Irish immigrants who move to New York.
The festival, the brainchild of CEO and Founder Rosellen Otrakji, will present quality cultural programming in addition to raising the funds to support them. “The Two River Film Festival is not just a great film festival but a charity for children arts and education,” says Otrakji. “Through film and symposia, we have an opportunity to examine topics in a unique and creative way as well as develop a template for giving.”
On October 12th, the festival will have its closing night with Peter Hedges’ film debut, PIECES OF APRIL.
Other films slated to screen at the festival include “SYLVIA,” starring Gwenyth Paltrow, “THE SINGING DETECTIVE,” starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Mel Gibson, and “MY LIFE WITHOUT ME” starring Sarah Poley, Mark Ruffalo and Deborah Harry.
