The New Filmmakers Forum at the St. Louis International Film Festival, which is slated to run from November 10th through the 12th, will dole out a fine $2,500 to the winner of their Emerging Filmmaker Prize, along with a nice load of Kodak film stock.
Among the selections taking over the screen at St. Louis are “Dead Dogs,” Clay Eide’s film noir piece that has screened at 14 festivals and won the prestigious American Independent Award. Also showing is “The Divine Ryans” by Stephen Reynolds, which promises to be a dramedy about “sex, religion, and hockey”–a true family film if there ever was one. “Dead Dogs” also stars the always-excellent Pete Postlethwaite of “In the Name of the Father” and “The Usual Suspects” fame.
The Forum keeps its schedule packed with filmmaking seminars and a coffee hour in the mornings of the 11th and 12th. The admission fee for these events is $10 at the door, and $50 for an all-inclusive pass that also covers entry to the Hospitality Suite.
