DE NIRO AND PACINO TOGETHER AGAIN? SO WHAT!?!

According to Deadline.com, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino are rumored to be interested in joining the cast of Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman,” a movie Scorsese has been working on with favored son Robert De Niro.

De Niro and Pacino potentially in a movie together? Why am I not excited? Two word answer: “Righteous Kill.” Now, you may counter with “Heat,” to which I would counter with the ultimate De Niro-Pacino starring picture, “The Godfather Part II,” only to point out that the two did not share screen time in that classic. In my mind, the less screen time De Niro and Pacino share together, the better the movies have wound up being.

As for Pesci, come on, the combination of Pesci, De Niro and Scorsese is gold in the bank. Don’t believe me? Watch “Casino,” “Goodfellas” or “Raging Bull.”

I am curious as to what a “Fockers” film would look like if Pacino joined the cast, though, as that would be the ultimate cinema “f**k you” to the fans of both that love seeing them together.

For the curious, “The Irishman” is the film adaptation of the book I Heard You Paint Houses, which tells the story of mob hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran.
