Okay...Joe Carnahan. I've seen and purchased NARC and I believe it's one of the best cop movies I've seen since SERPICO.
He made another movie years before which I haven't seen yet called BLOOD, BULLETS AND OCTANE...great title.

Does anyone know more about this guy?

I saw Joe recently at the IFC Spirit Awards party and he's directing the next Mission Impossible movie with Tom Cruise. Sounds like it's going to kick ass and be a balls-to-the-walls experience. I guess Cruise is a fan of Joe's and he wants a more cutting edge feel to the next film in the series, so Joe is Tom's man.

I met Joe when we roomed together at Sundance in 1997. Well, Joe let me sleep on the floor of his condo. That was a crazy year. He showed me the first 20 minutes of "Blood, Guts..." and I was blown away. I hooked him up with a publicist friend of mine and "BGBO" was in Sundance in 1998. It was so awesome to see him get that kind of success so quick. In fact, Joe did a kick ass interview in my film festival book. He's the real deal. Same badass talker he was when I knew him then. I was glad to see success hasn't spoiled the guy.

I recently saw NARC and was completely blown away by it. The first minutes of that film are so intense. Liotta of course, was amazing. Should have been nominated for the Oscar. Wasn't Carnahan supposedly directing Mission III with David Fincher? I thought I saw that on imdb once.
