View Full Version : Luring them back

It sure seemed as if a lot of people went bugshit when Terrence Malick was lured out of retirement to helm The Thin Red Line in '98 and I have to say that I really enjoyed his work.
So, who would YOU like to see lured out of retirement and put to work again?
Personally, I'm thinking I'd like to see Monte Hellman working in a Two-Lane Blacktop or The Shooting state of mind.

Dick Butkus.

And I know he isn't really "retired," but Mr. T should get more work.

Well, Butkus and Mr. T weren't exactly what I was thinking of but yeah, what the hell, I'd like to see more of Mr. T, for sure.

Is Charles Nelson Reilly still alive? I'd pay a buck to see him come back, maybe make a cop/buddy movie with Robert DeNiro or that, *ahem* somewhat swishy (not that there's anything wrong with that) guy with the big moustache who runs around tossing confetti in the air.
Unless of course they're both dead. Then I'd really rather not see them.

Dude, you're thinking of Rip Taylor. Rip was just recently in "Jackass: The Movie".

Charles Nelson Reiley is still alive, and doing dinner theater.

(Why am I so up to date on older "festive" gentlemen?)

Ah, whoo! Festive gentlemen. That gave me a good, sorely needed laugh, thanks.

Rip Taylor. Festive, indeed (not that there's anything wrong with that). I guess I may have to see Jackass now.

If you want hot, uncensored Rip Taylor action, check out his web site.

It will make you as moist as he is.

That topless picture of Rip makes baby Jesus cry.

At least I have no doubt in my sexuality anymore.

George Romero.
I know it's not like Hollywood is waiting for his next project, I know. But the guy just doesn't want to play the game. He seems uninspired to really go out and sell himself and a project to any of the suits.
He seems quite content, but it's our loss.

Rinse Dream.

Anyone know his real name? It escapes me at the moment, and I'm at work right now so I can't check my copy of Doctor Caligari.

He directed my favorite porno: Cafe Flesh. He did some similarly stylish video porn under the Nightdreams title. But you gotta check out DC. I think it's the last flick made by the guy who drove the Chevy Malibu in Repo Man. Can't remember his name either. Fox something, wasn't it?

No one makes flicks as out-and-out KOOKY as Rinse Dream. Brechtian acting and whacked dialog ("Nothing destroys evidence like a good stew."), along with minimalist sets and freaky sexuality. Not nearly enough of that today.
