Pretty good film I guess, I enjoyed it for the most part. Kind of slow in some areas.

I really didn't have much sympathy for the Jennifer Connelly character. At least, not as much as the filmmakers would have wanted. Instead I was mostly on the side of Ben Kingsley's character, and by the way, he turns out a great performance, fantastic as always. My loyalty shifted from character to character throughout the first half of the film really, but in the end I had definitely chosen a side, and that's probably not what the filmmakers wanted. I really did not like Ron Eldard's Lester, his actions seemed way too forced, twisted and unrealistic.

Yeah I do have a lot of bad things to say about the film, but overall it was pleasing and entertaining. It was much more refreshing than "Paycheck" which I saw yesterday. But just let me tell you, this film made me feel a lot like how I felt when I saw "Mystic River." Both have good casts that turn out great performances, the characters are interesting, the stories are engaging, I felt like I really wanted to keep watching to see what happened next. Don't get me wrong though, they're entirely different films internally. BUT both of these films are BIG DOWNERS overall.

"House of Sand and Fog," in the end I was just thinking, damn how did it turn out like this. So many problems and misunderstandings, for all the characters. Really depressing and sad. It was really nothing but a simple story about a house, and yet it made me care so much about it.

I thought it was great. I could relate to both characters, they were both "right", so it kind of took away some predictability. the acting was ridiculous. I imagine movies like this or 21 grams with other actors and think how terrible they would be.
