Contrary to the posted review, "Bad Santa" was NOWHERE near as wretched as "Shakes The Clown". While both movies featured one-note actors in thier respective leads, STC was dismal from start to finish while BS at least showed flashes of promise. Ultimately though, the movie was a definite misstep for Terry Zwigoff after the the awesome one-two punch of "Crumb" and "Ghost World". I mean, you can see the "underground comix" sensibility at work, but the whole story was half-baked. I mean, after 7 previous annual robberies, the FBI (who would certainly be involved) can't figure out the MO of an alcoholic Santa and a Black dwarf but Bernie Mac's underwritten store dick figures it out within a matter of days? AND the denoument was completely lazy and copped out. The best thing, however, was seeing Gilmore Girl Lauren Graham chant the mantra "fuckmesantafuckmesantafuckmesanta...".

I'm tempted to see it for that bit alone.

Man - what happened to film threat anyway. Bad santa was great - why? - because it was funny! Film Threat used to understand that basic concept - but now it's just another lame rag that touts the critical party line. I couldn't even tell if the Bad Santa reviewer had seen the film based on the generic critique.

As far as Shakes The Clown - that flick was great. And if you don't understand that - go watch Elf or some other lame arse entertainment that doesn't even make the kids laugh.

Bad Santa was ok. So much goes on on B.B. Thornton's face that I like to see it writ large.

I like when he swears at the kids on his lap. I dunno why 'kay? That just amuses me. "What the fuck do YOU want?" "A fighting RGB garbled." "WHAT the fuck is THAT?" It just hits my funny bone somehow.

I havent seen it, but read a Film THreat Review where the writer said it was a giant skidmark on the underwear of director's who should know better. (Or something like that). Not only is that the funniest thing I have ever heard, kind of makes you want to wait till it's on HBO!

We were secretly bought by Premiere. Don't tell anyone.

And they gave us these cool t-shirts, threw a great Hooker Party for us (free hookers all around), gave us yearly passes to our favorite theaters and...

wait, I'm not supposed to tell them of the benefits that brought us to our knees for Premiere, right?
