FILMIC ACHIEVEMENT at MANN'S CHINESE 6 (INSIDE THE HOLLYWOOD/HIGHLAND COMPLEX) MONDAY, OCTOBER 10 at 6 PM
CRITICS SAY
"...offers laughs for everyone." Kansas City Star
"...a 'This Is Spinal Tap' for the world of film schools..." Scene Magazine
"...a towering achievement in laughter." The Plain Dealer
"...a perfectly-wrought mockumentary." Angle Magazine
"...a hilarious look at film school sub-culture." cinematical.com
Everyone at UNY Film School has a film to make: Delvo Christian, a semantics major and semiotics minor from Brown University wants to make an existential French film; tortured child of privilege and performance artist Constance Van Horn wants to make an abstract art film starring herself; and Mike Pack emulates Quentin Tarantino and plans to make an "explosive" film while living in his mother's basement. Their professor, Buck Felty, promises to teach them the 13 steps of filmmaking but somehow only gets to step #9.
Called "...the 'Spinal Tap' of film school..." (Cleveland Int'l Film Festival) FILMIC ACHIEVEMENT offers a revealing look at the filmmakers of tomorrow. When the final student films are revealed, they surprise everyone - including the filmmakers themselves - and only one student walks away with the $10,000 prize and the coveted Filmic Achievement Award.
Parking is $2 at the Hollywood and Highland Center with your movie stub. Tickets are $12.50 and on sale at the Mann Chinese Theater box office.
