Much as I enjoy T&A and gore, I don't see the point of remaking this. Because they can?

And they show you pretty much everything in the trailer.

Is it a remake or a sequel? I had to watch the trailer at work with the sound turned down, so the story details are lost on me.

The original was called "2000 Maniacs," and I'd heard this project described as a pseudo-sequel in the same vein as "Return of the Living Dead."

i watched "2000 Maniacs" this morning and just saw the preview of 2001 Maniacs...

even though the gore in 2001 may be more "ewwww,"

theres something more unsettling about a bunch of southerners in the 60s talking about a Civil War centenniel.
