Howdy
For the past year and a half, I've been directing a feature documentary on aging called Growing Old. Its a slice-of-life film with a lot of subjects, but it focuses primarily on two elder couples & a doctor who specializes in elder care. We finished final editing a few days ago, and we just cut a trailer. We've just started the process of submitting to festivals and wooing distributors.
Here's the trailer (http://www.growingold.info/trailer.php)
Let me know what you all think!

I like the look of the film, even if the topic doesn't appeal to me all that much (nothing personal, you understand, I'm just not into the elderly as subject matter). The subjects you've chosen certainly seem like they'd be engaging to listen to.
I have to wonder, though, how long you can stretch the idea of "thinking young."

That's cool, I understand if that's not your cup of tea. I appreciate your response.
It's funny to see the footage cut down to a trailer -- I mean, I think it accurately represents the film, but there is so much that's not in there...a lot of dark stuff, people looking at the lives they've led & dealing with some pretty tough things...as far as sustaining the "thinking young" idea for the film, I guess I'll just have to wait and see, although early screenings we've had with baby boomers and elderly people seem to like it, and they're our core audience so that's encouraging...
Anyway, thanks for the feedback. I'll be posting news about the film as I have it...

As is usually the case. I'm looking forward to checking it out, either way. Keep us posted.

I was lucky enough to help out here and there on Growing Old, and can't wait to see what kind of response it gets. Plus there is a double ending where Keanu Reeves reprises his role as Neo, and kicks alot of old people ass!

Yeah, there's this scene where he fights a hundred Bea Arthurs and another where he has this huge underground rave with The Rappin' Grannies.

Why didn't you say so in the first place?
This will be the greatest movie ever.

Like I said, there's a lot of stuff that doesn't make the trailer. ;)

I work with seniors and I have for a very long time ... sometimes it feels like all my life ... long story and its not very interesting.
But from the trailer I very very! much look forward to seeing this film and hope it makes it to a festival I'll be at.
Keep me informed and I"ll be there!

Thanks a lot for your kind words. It was a treat to be able to film so many elders for the film -- in general, we found that they're brutally honest, which made filming a whole lot easier! It's hard to make a documentary if your subjects don't open up to you.
I'll keep you posted on how you can see the film.
