With a few pick up shots and added scenes completed at the end of August, production of my friend Rob Fitz's God of Vampires (http://www.godofvampires.com) officially wrapped after five years. God of Vampires is a no budget, big production Hong Kong action-style horror flick. GOV was shot on 16 mm, with the intention of producing a 35 mm widescreen transfer. Rob raised $23,000, virtually all of which went to film stock and developing, but the sacrifice, creativity, and hard work of everyone involved - all volunteers - was invaluable.
Rob showed a rough cut of GOV at Dragon-Con this past weekend. Redubbing and sound editing are the two big tasks left to complete, but Rob planned to have some of the mixing done by showtime. If anyone saw it, I'd love to hear your thoughts and the reaction of the audience.
Rob and his editor, Cherry Enoki, produced three trailers, each more ambitious than the last. Unfortunately, only the first one is available for download. The film was shot chronologically over five years, so improvement in the skills of both the cast and crew is evident in the trailers and the movie itself; fortunately, it started at a pretty high level, so it isn't distracting. This teaser trailer was put together almost as soon as the first scene was complete.

A bit of trivia: Rob's student film, Lost Face, was reviewed in the late, great Film Threat Video Guide . It's reprinted on his site (http://www.godofvampires.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=46&mode=thread&order=0&thold=-1) with permission.
