I've enjoyed all of "The Matrix" movies so far. I would imagine many people got lost towards the end of "The Matrix: Reloaded." I saw a television interview awhile back that featured Carrie Anne-Moss and she stated that the Matrix trilogy was about "choice"...and it is...it also incorporates the religious philosophy of "free will." It is true one who has a grasp of the fundamentals of computer programming would have an easier time deciphering the massive overload of information...at the same time it would be easier for someone who has studied mythology...legends...religion to understand it as well. I highly recommend Joseph Campbell's "The Hero With A Thousand Faces." The Wachowskis have crafted an interesting script that parallels the religious theory of "predistination" and a skillfully crafted thought out program with predetermined subroutines. Several of the scenes mirrored stories from Christian, Hindu, Buddhism, and other various religions. On the way to the Oracle, the street is ordorned with images of Jesus...Mary...etc. I will utilize Judeo-Christian beliefs to illustrate my point. It is obvious the comparisons between Neo and Jesus...Neo being "The One"...the redeemer...he perished and rose from the dead in the first film. "The Architect" offers Neo an active role in the reconstruction of Zion and the debugging of the matrix. The Wachowski brothers draw a parallel between "The Devil" and "The Architect." "The Choice" scene mirrors the biblical scene in which "The Devil" tempts "Jesus" with the kingdoms of the world and riches beyond his imagination and tries to make Jesus doubt his divinity. Don't be fooled, though "The Architect" is likely an avatar for the system...there is some truth in what he says...this character mainly enables the Wachowski brothers to explain the origins of the matrix in addition to fueling our appetite for the third installment. Neo stopping a sentinel outside of the matrix continues the symbolism of him being messianic...."The Chosen One."

The even numbered star trek movies
I pray to Jeebus that you mean the odd numbered Star Trek movies.
I can't imagine the poor wretch of a soul who would prefer "The Search For Spock" over "The Wrath Of Khan". If I ever utter the phrase "No dear, put First Contact away. I want to watch Star Trek 5!", death will not be far behind.

What?!?! Did I hear you right, the Matrix sucked. That is one of the most ridiculous things i have ever heard. It was totally groundbreaking not to mention how amazing the movie was in general. The acting was great, the story was amazing/original, and the action was so much more than anything that anyone could ever dream. You are a true fool.

Okay, Kuato. Defend your position. WHY did Matrix:Reloaded suck? And, be specific. Any comments along the lines of "It was pointless," or "It was stupid" don't cut it. Put up or shut up, man.
For the record, I didn't think the flick sucked. I did have some problems with parts of it (the "rave" being foremost), but as a whole I thought it was an excellent followup.
I believe that almost everyone who has the vehement anti-reaction that you have was disappointed because M:R didn't follow the story that you expected it to. A lot of venemous reviews I read had this same theme. A reviewer would questions elements such as Neo's seemingly limited powers or all the talking that went on. All the beefs stemmed from a desire to see one thing on screen and ending up with something else.
Before M:R was released, I learned that the story had been conceived as a trilogy from the get go. The story was that the Wachowskis approached Hollywood people with this trilogy and no one wanted to give them the money to do it. Eventually, someone said, "Prove you can make a movie." So they made Bound, and it was good enough for them to get the money for the first Matrix. (This story roughly parallels Lucas' efforts to get the first Star Wars made.) The point is that, even as they were filming the first flick without knowing the other two would even be made, they had these ideas about where the story would go after the events in The Matrix.
So, when I saw M:R, I didn't have any preconceived notions of where the story would go. I sat back and let the Wachowskis' vision wash over me. I was impressed with the way they turned certain notions from the first flim on their collective ear. I was equally intrigued by the ending. I can't wait to see how this whole story pans out.
In addition, the "talky" scenes actually served a valuable purpose: to set up revelations in the final installment. Think about it -- that one Council member jabbers at Neo at length about the symbiotic relationship between humans and machines. It's my belief that the Council is actually descended from the original group the previous One saved from the destruction of Zion, which is why that guy's attitude toward machines is so conciliatory. Plus, we've seen two films full of people in the machines' world; now we get to see a machine (Agent Smith) in the humans' world.
Okay, enough ranting. But let me close by saying the following:
(1) I don't think Matrix:Reloaded was a perfect film, but I was thoroughly entertained by it nonetheless.
(2) If your beefs with the movie run along the lines of "Too much talking" or "Not enough action," then you just didn't get it.
